Routine Jerusalem traffic enforcement rapidly turned into a rescue of a car transporting a woman in labor stuck in a traffic jam at the Golda interchange.

At around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, at peak rush hour, police noticed a private car stop next to them. The driver turned to them and told the police that her daughter was about to give birth and she did not want her to give birth in a car.

One of the policemen said, "A car arrived from which a woman got out and told us her daughter was about to have a baby and she didn't want her to give birth in the car. We immediately told her to drive along the shoulder; we accompanied her and cleared her way to the hospital."

The policemen immediately got on their motorcycles, ordered her to drive along the shoulder, facilitating her arrival to Shaare Zedek Hospital.
