A ten-month-old baby girl is in serious condition after her head became stuck in the bars of her bed in an apartment in Jerusalem Monday.
The toddler was found unconscious in her crib after nearly suffocating. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics provided first aid and resuscitated the child. After her pulse was restored, she was evacuated to Hadassah Medical Center on Mount Scopus.
MDA emergency paramedic Moshe Balach, said: "When I arrived at the home I saw the baby lying unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing. I immediately began giving her medical treatment and performing advanced resuscitation work together with other MDA teams who arrived there."
"After long minutes of advanced resuscitation efforts including medication and CPR, the pulse returned and she was evacuated in a very difficult condition to the hospital when she was breathing," he added.
