The "From The Depths" foundation on Sunday hosted in Warsaw, Poland, a unique event celebrating 70 years of Israeli Independence and the upcoming celebrations of 100 years of renewed Polish Independence.

Partnering with "From the Depths" was the TSKZ, Poland’s largest Jewish organization.

From the Depths is the only foundation run entirely by millennials and dealing with Holocaust memory and memorial and Polish-Jewish relations.

The event was held at the Warsaw premises of the From The Depths Foundation, and attended by a delegation of Israeli Knesset members. The delegation was headed by Knesset Deputy Speaker and Israeli-Polish Parliamentary Group Chairman MK Yehiel Hilik Bar (Zionist Union), MK Yehuda Glick (Likud), MK Leah Fadida (Zionist Union), and MK Akram Hasoon (Kulanu).

The group also included Yuval Rabin, son of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who famously spoke in Warsaw 25 years ago at the 50th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, as well as Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who has taken a lead role in strengthening Polish-Jewish Relations with his public meetings with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Representing Poland were Polish Chief of Staff of the PM, Minister Marek Suski, and a group of ministers and parliamentarians, as well as 150 guests from international embassies in Poland, journalists and business leaders.

Speaking at the event, Bar said, “As chair of the Polish-Israel Parliamentary Group, it’s very important for us to have these ties with Poland, especially during times of disagreement with the IPN law. Poland is a important ally for the State of Israel in the United Nations, European Union, and many other platforms.”

Boteach said, “After coming from Israel, where I celebrated 70 years of Israeli Independence, it was moving to see Polish political leaders and youth proudly surrounded by Israeli flags, celebrating the Jewish state. The Holocaust Law continues to divide us and requires resolution. But Poland’s support for Israel in international forums is something for which the Jewish community is deeply grateful.”

From the Depths Founder and President Jonny Daniels said, “The Jewish and Polish Nations have been intrinsically connected for over 800 years. To continue this connection into the next generation is a remarkable thing, and to see so many leaders in both Poland and Israel actively interested in building and improving these relations, is heartwarming.”
