IDF forces this morning continue to operate in PLO-controlled areas in search of Arabs suspected of terrorist activity and to confiscate illegally held weapons. In the city of Shechem last night, troops discovered and disarmed two female university students already wearing explosives vests.
Over the weekend, the IDF detained hundreds of Arabs in Bethlehem, Kalkilya, and Tul Karem as well as 50 Arabs from the Shechem area wanted of terror activity. Included in those arested in Shechem was Issam Abu Bahar, the local Tanzim terrorist chief.
In other war news, a 50 kilogram (110 lbs) bomb was discovered and detonated in the Gaza area… Arabs fired at soldiers in Bituniya area near Ramallah. No injuries were reported in either incident.
