The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office filed an indictment on Friday against Martinez Jorge Mario, 59, who murdered Elizabeth Cardona last month on Derech Shlomo street in Tel Aiv
According to the indictment, the couple had been partners for a number of years until they separated in November 2017. During this period the two lived together in Tel Aviv and took part in the management of a bar-restaurant on Derech Shlomo street.
The two continued to work together at the establishment even after they parted. After their separation, there was a dispute between them about the division of property between them and the connection of the deceased with other people. Also, on several occasions Mario threatened Cardona that he would murder her.
The indictment states that Mario decided to kill Cardona last month and, in order to carry out his plan, arrived at around 3:45 PM, called Cardona and asked her to come to the business.
In addition, Mario disconnected the security cameras in the business, so that the planned murder will not be recorded. Cardona accepted his request and came to the business. When they met, an argument broke out between the two, during which the woman took Mario's cell phone and left the business.
About 10 minutes later, Cardona returned to business and Mario demanded that she return the cell phone. When she refused, Mario took a knife and stabbed her to death.
