
Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) met with the Governor of Missouri, Eric Greitens, in the United States.
Greitens is the first Jewish governor of Missouri.
During the meeting, the Israeli consul-general in Atlanta, Ambassador Judith Varnai Shorer, received from Governor Greitens a declaration of support for the State of Israel in honor of its 70th Independence Day.
Minister Ariel said that "when we talk about the United States, we think about the familiar cities on the beaches, but in fact, I am in the heart of the United States where agriculture is a value. I am happy to be here and strengthen our ties with these states.”
"The declaration of support for Israel proves the deep connection between Missouri and Israel," added Minister Ariel.
During the meeting, Minister Ariel and Governor Greitens decided to strengthen the agricultural and agro-technological relations and cooperation between Israel and Missouri.
