The State submitted its response to the Supreme Court Thursday on the arrangement with a third country to which illegal infiltrators will be deported.

According to the state's response, a special envoy left for Uganda on Wednesday morning and the Attorney General believes that there is a high probability of fulfilling the conditions required for deportation to that country, but a short period of time is needed to complete the investigation.

In addition, the state wrote that there is no cause for the release of asylum seekers from the Saharonim detention facility. "There is no reason to change the temporary order given by the court in its decision of March 15, and at this time there is no cause for their release in custody."

The Associated Press reported that Uganda and Rwanda categorically denied that an agreement had been signed with Israel to deport infiltrators to their territory. Uganda's foreign minister stated that "we have no agreement or understanding with Israel regarding immigration absorption, and if immigrants come to us, we will insist that they be returned."
