Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman and Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan, took part Tuesday afternoon in a cornerstone laying ceremony in the Netiv Ha'avot neighborhood in Gush Etzion.

The buildings will house those to be evacuated in June from their homes in accordance with the Supreme Court's decision to destroy fifteen homes in the neighborhood, parts of which were built on non-state land.

At the ceremony, Liberman said, "I'm looking at the work - this is unprecedented. In 2017 we approved 11,500 housing units and I hope this momentum will continue."

"It's our responsibility to act wisely for peace within our ranks," said Liberman, alluding to the coalition. "This is a good government. We're also promoting the bypass roads, and as the Festival of Freedom approaches, we place a cornerstone for a new neighborhood near Netiv Ha'avot."

Regarding the infiltration in the south of the country, Lieberman said, "The incident is under investigation and I'm not prepared to speak until the operational debriefing. Regarding the planned Friday march at the Gaza border, the army is ready and prepared."
