IDF forces backed by tanks entered the ancient Jewish town of Hevron early this morning in pursuit of Arabs suspected of terrorist activity. Four Arabs were arrested including members of the Islamic Jihad and Hamas terror gangs. Troops pulled out of the town about five hours later. In addition, police operating in the Kalkilya area yesterday apprehended the Fatah-Tanzim chief of the PLO village of Azzoun.

Security officials announced yesterday that they have arrested Arin Ahmed, a 20-year-old Palestinian woman who was to take part in last week’s Rishon LeTzion suicide attack at a pedestrian mall. Officials say that the attack was slated to be a double-suicide bombing, but Ahmed backed out at the last minute. Nevertheless, the lone bomber, who was just 16-years-old, caused plenty of carnage, murdering two Israelis and wounding over 40 in the attack.

In other war news, Arabs fired four mortar shells at Jewish communities in the Gaza region. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
