It was cleared for publication on Sunday night that the Jewish man murdered in the terrorist stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem is Adiel Kolman, a resident of Kochav Hashahar in the Binyamin region and originally from the community of Keshet in the Golan Heights.
Adiel is survived by his wife and four children. Funeral details have not yet been announced.
Adiel was brought to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition, where doctors fought for his life for several hours before he succumbed to his injuries.
"We regretfully announce that the stabbing victim died of his injuries despite resuscitation efforts and life-saving activities," the hospital said. "Shaare Zedek sends its condolences to the family.”
The terrorist, a resident of the Palestinian Authority city of Shechem (Nablus), attacked Kolman with a knife and stabbed him in the upper part of his body. The terrorist was shot and neutralized by a policeman and later died of his wounds.
The terrorist, 28, was married and the father of two children. He had been granted an entry permit to pre-1967 Israel for the purpose of employment..
Security forces are investigating the stabbing attack and are trying to understand how the terrorist was able to reach Jerusalem from the PA unhindered, and how he passed the security check in the Old City area despite carrying a knife.
