Today, almost four weeks after Margalit Har-Shefi entered prison following her conviction on charges of not taking action to prevent the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, two protest vigils were held demanding that she be pardoned. One, a weekly event organized by the Committee for Margalit Har-Shefi and Women in Green, was held outside the President’s Residence in Jerusalem. The second one, with the participation of Margalit\'s parents, was held outside a hall in Tel Aviv where Justice Minister Meir Shetreet held a meeting of Likud party members. All the Likud members who entered the hall told the protestors that their cause was just and that they would raise the issue with Shetreet; on their way out, they reported that they had in fact done so. Minister Shetreet can be faxed at (+972-2) 628-5438.
