The National Union party is set to launch its new "Jewish Israel" program in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
The program's agenda, which deals with core issue affecting the State of Israel, was discussed, studied, and formulated after protracted consultation with rabbis, yeshiva heads, and public figures, and reflects the position of religious Zionism and the traditional Jewish public.
Tuesday's conference will include panels and discussions attended by rabbis, public figures, party members, National Union Chairman Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, MK Bezalel Smotrich, party secretary Ofir Sofer, activists, and others concerned about the Jewish character of the State of Israel.
In a new video released today for the event, Smotrich said, "Friends, the Western Wall is in our hands. We always dreamed of praying at the Western Wall. That's how it always was. So why change? We in the National Union will take care, with G-d's help. The Wall should reflect the character of the Jewish people, faithful to the tradition of Israel for generations.
"The majority of the public believes in preserving the Jewish character of the State, and the National Union will keep Israel Jewish. Is this religionization? Religionization is who we are," added Smotrich.
