Some 50 Congressmen have signed a letter asking that two of the 13 terrorists exiled from Israel be extradited to the United States. The letter, written to U.S. Attorney-General John Ashcroft, was initiated by Rep. Eliot Engel (D-New York), a member of the House International Relations Committee.
The two terrorists in question are currently in Europe, pursuant to the agreement that ended the standoff at Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity earlier this month. The Israeli authorities hold the two, Ibrahim Abeyat and Jihad Jarrah, responsible for the murder of American citizen Avi Boaz six months ago. Boaz, 72 and a resident of Ma’aleh Adumim, was kidnapped and murdered in Bethlehem by Arab terrorists.
