\"Distorted and frankly fraudulent.\" This is how Frank Gaffney, president of the Washington-based Center for Security Policy, describes the recent State Department Report on Terrorism. Middle East News Line reports that Gaffney appeared before a House Armed Services subcommittee last week and told the members that the report ignored many acts of terrorism and terrorist sponsorship by the Palestinian Authority and Saudi Arabia. He urged Congress to issue its own study on worldwide international terrorism.

\"I would suggest that not since [1995] has the Congress been served such a distorted and, frankly, fraudulent document as that the State Department has just rendered describing Palestinian compliance with its obligations and other terrorist threats,\" Gaffney said. He added that the State Department refused to acknowledge evidence that Arafat was involved in financing suicide bombings and buying rockets to attack Israeli cities.
