The IDF continues to operate in PLO-controlled areas in order to catch terrorists before they have the chance to murder. Last night troops apprehended two wanted suspects in the town of Kalkilya, just east of Kfar Saba. In addition, soldiers this morning are in hot-pursuit of terrorists in the Bethlehem area, south of Jerusalem.

On another front, Arabs last night fired a mortar shell at a Jewish community in Israel’s southern Mediterranean Coastal Region… An army position near the community of Ofrah, north of Jerusalem, was targeted by Arab gunfire. No injuries were reported in either incident.

In other news, a website has been established(http://www.geocities.com/righttoserve/) allowing Israelis to sign a petition, expressing support for Israel’s Operation Defensive Shield operation, and other anti-terror efforts within Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza). The site, launched by IDF reservists, points out that the overwhelming majority of the soldiers, who were called up for emergency duty, joined their fellow reservists in defending the state of Israel. The petition comes in response to a campaign started by army reserve soldiers and officers refusing to serve in Yesha.
