Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family of Rabbi Raziel Shevach, who was murdered last Tuesday evening near Havat Gilad in Samaria.

Rabbi Revach, 35, was shot by Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists as he drove near Havat Gilad. He left behind a wife and six children, the youngest of whom is ten months old.

Exiting the mourners' home, Shaked spoke to Arutz Sheva about the Regulation Law, which will be discussed on Sunday in a government meeting.

The Regulation Law legalizes and protects thousands of Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria which were built with government backing and lacked absentee land claims, but against which there are now property claims.

Under the Regulation Law, homes built on such properties will be allowed to remain, and owners with proven claims to the land will be given a choice of receiving an alternate plot of land or monetary compensation for 125% of their land's value.

"Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) prepared a proposal to legalize the town [Havat Gilad -ed.]. We need to approve it on Sunday," she said. "This should have been done a long time ago, and now we have a good opportunity. There's a lot of private land here that's owned by Jews and by the town."

"This should have been done a long time ago. Raziel should have seen this happen during his lifetime, and if we didn't do it - it needs to happen now.

"There were legal issues, which I hope we have solved. There's also a diplomatic issue, and I think the political climate allows it to happen, and what's most important is not to delay. There is a consensus, there were a lot of ministers here, as well as President Reuven Rivlin. We need to approve this on Sunday, and not wait."
