Police found and neutralized several explosives this morning in a marble factory in Erez, in the northern Gaza Strip. The police also arrested an Arab who, over the last several months, had smuggled in a total of 17 kilograms of explosives for later use in suicide attacks. The detained man led them to the bombs and to an explosives vest containing nails and metal pieces. The arrest was facilitated after four wanted Palestinian terrorist suspects were arrested and interrogated in Erez last night. Another 35 workers were also arrested in Erez today.

A Kassam rocket was fired last night at a Jewish community in Gush Katif (southern Gaza), but caused no damage. Soldiers who heard the blast and who began searching for its landing site thought they were looking for a \"mere\" mortar shell. Only when they found the Kassam did they realize what had actually occurred… PLO gunfire targeted an IDF outpost near Netzarim and the Erez Checkpoint, both in Gaza, this morning. No one was hurt, and soldiers returned fire.
