(Updated Wednesday 10:15 AM) Israeli border police operating near Jenin this morning killed a heavily armed Arab who had opened fire on their position. Upon further investigation soldiers discovered that the man also had an explosives belt strapped to his body.



Following a series of recent Arab attacks against Jewish communities in the Gaza region, the IDF last night set up a blockade dividing the entire region into two halves. The IDF hopes that separating Gaza into northern and southern sections will prevent future attacks.



At the same time that the IDF is taking defensive measures in Gaza, the Arabs continue to launch attacks. Soldiers in the Rafiach area along the Israel/Egypt border spotted four armed Arabs gathering weapons that were thrown over the Egyptian border. The soldiers opened fire and the men fled back into PLO controlled areas. Also last night, Arabs launched three mortars shells Jewish communities in Southern Gaza. In addition, soldiers were targeted by terrorist gunfire near the Gush Katif community of Sufa.



The IDF last night arrested a total of 21 Arabs suspected of terrorist activity. 15 suspects from the in the Shomron village of Salfit were taken into custody… Army forces this morning arrested three brothers suspected of terrorist activities in the PLO-controlled Abu Sneineh neighborhood of Hevron… Soldiers arrested three wanted Arabs in villages near Jerusalem.
