Beginning at midnight on Thursday morning, the iPhone X is now available in Israel.

Sale of the new iPhone has already begun in various stores around Israel. In Tel Aviv, hundreds of people lined up outside iDigital before the store even opened, waiting in the hours-long line for their turn to purchase the newest electronic gadget.

Prices without VAT (value added tax) range from 4,100 NIS ($1168) for a 64GB model to 4,500 NIS ($1282) for a 256GB model.

The Mahsanei Hashmal electric appliances chain is the cheapest place to buy the iPhone X.

It is estimated that the inventory allocated to all marketers in Israel is several tens of thousands, since, like all Apple launches, the company makes sure to create a large demand for supply and shortage at all points of sale: Pelephone reported 15,000 registered for early bird specials, while electricity warehouses are reported to have been allocated less than a thousand devices - one-fifth of the volume of the orders sent to Apple worldwide. The reason for the high demand stems, in part, from the fact that this is the most expensive device on the market today, which makes it a clear status symbol.

Israelis are known for their yen for purchasing the most advanced electronic gadgets.

The launch sale includes an accessory package offering a cover for the phone's back, a screen protector, and a charger, for an additional 239 NIS ($68).
