A blind, childless man has donated his eighth Torah scroll to a Tzfat synagogue. \"Torah scrolls are my children,\" Haviv Amar, 70, said on Sunday while participating in the joyous occasion. The scroll was brought into the synagogue amidst singing and dancing by many of the townspeople. Mr. Amar said that whatever money he has goes towards this cause. \"G-d decreed that this be my life destiny,\" he said. Local Tzfat residents say they know him as a man of good deeds who attends many weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, and britot [ritual circumcisions] in the city.
