Labor party leader Avi Gabbay slammed Coalition Chairman David Bitan (Likud) and MK David (Dudu) Amsalem (Likud) for attempting to harm Israel Police and the State Prosecutor.
In an interview with Channel 10, Gabbay said, "My promise is very simple: In the first month I am Prime Minister, we will cancel all the laws which harm the ability of the State Prosecutor and Israel Police to investigate corruption charges."
Responding to Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon (Kulanu) and Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman's (Yisrael Beytenu) statement that they will not join his coalition, Gabbay said, "The last one we would invite to join us is Liberman. Everyone knows that wherever Liberman goes, there is corruption."
About the Zionist Union's diplomatic views Gabbay said only that "most of Israel does not answer to the regular definitions of left, right, and center. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu made these terms up in order to disqualify people."
The Zionist Union is made up of Israel's Labor, Hatnuah, and Green parties.
"When it comes to security issues, I stand with the right," Gabbay explained. "When it comes to diplomatic issues - I believe in territorial concessions, and in negotiations with the Palestinians. I also believe in a solution based on two states for two peoples, and a united Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty. "
