US Congress and Knesset members will meet on Wednesday in Washington to sign a mutual and unprecedented declaration calling on the US government to support the Israeli government to its utmost, and not to dictate the solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict to the Israelis.
The document will also call on the US to insist the Palestinian Authority recognize Israel as the Jewish nation state.
MK Oded Foyer (Yisrael Beytenu), chair of the Knesset Lobby for Promoting the Recognition of the Israeli Victory and the Committee for Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs Chairman MK Avraham Neguise (Likud), will meet with White House officials, Republican and Democratic congressmen, and the heads of leading Jewish organizations in order to gather political and public support for the declaration.
The Knesset's Lobby for Promoting the Recognition of the Israeli Victory, which was created in July, includes representatives from all Zionist parties. Its sister lobby, which predates the Israeli lobby, is led by Congressmen Bill Johnson and Ronald DeSantis and includes dozens of members of Congress.
Both lobbies were created with support from the Middle East Forum. Led by Daniel Pipes, the Forum launched the Israel Victory Project in early 2017.
The lobbies' goal is to change the narrative in both Washington and Jerusalem in order to solve the Israeli-Arab conflict via policies which support the Israeli victory and the Palestinian Authority's (PA) realization of that victory. The Israel Victory Project aims to create a new paradigm, in which the PA ceases to oppose Israel's identity as a Jewish state, and Israel becomes accepted in the region.
The lobbies also call on both governments to re-examine the Oslo Accords and find new ways to solve the conflict.
