Apple announced the launch date of its long-awaited iPhone X in Israel Tuesday.
The next-generation iPhone was revealed at an Apple event at the Steve Jobs theater in Cupertino, California in September.
The iPhone X is slightly larger than the standard iPhone 6 and 8 models, but because its touch screen covers nearly all of its 5.8 inch surface, the screen is larger than that of the iPhone 8 Plus.
The device is comfortable in the hand and can be controlled with a single finger for most tasks. The frame is constructed out of stainless steel.
The iPhone X stands out from its predecessors in that it lacks a home button. To unlock the device, users can use the 3D facial recognition feature. The phone can also be charged tirelessly.
The smartphone's cameras have also been improved. The device features 12-megapixel dual-lens cameras on the back, as well as a 'TrueDepth camera' which can recognize and analyze over 50 different facial expressions and muscle movements and animate them into a new emoji system, called 'Animoji.'
Apple's Israeli branch will hold a special event at midnight on the night of November 22-23 for the release of the iPhone X at its store on 135 Dizengoff St. in Tel Aviv.
The price of the iPhone X in Israel has not yet been released.
