Unknown individuals broke into the home of Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan's (Likud) spokesperson Noam Sela, stealing documents and computers containing government information.
The break-in occurred during the early hours of Thursday morning.
Sela lives in Nehalim, a moshav located near the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva.
The thieves stole laptops containing information and documents pertaining to both Israel Police and the Israeli government.
An investigation has been opened, and Israel Police are currently investigating whether the stolen laptops contained classified material.
