Israel Police arrived in central Jerusalem on Wednesday morning, after receiving a report of a toddler left in a car.

Officers rescued the toddler and successfully located her father, who was at home at the time.

While the officer who rescued the toddler held her hand, calmed her down, and offered her a drink, other officers worked to locate the girl's parents.

Within minutes, the team had located child's father, who was then brought to the police station to collect the child.

A report has been filed with the Welfare Ministry.

"Israel Police emphasizes the need for parents and all others responsible for children to take note of these incidents," an Israel Police spokesperson said. He emphasized that both parents and caregivers must "avoid forgetting children in vehicles or any other place which may prevent an immediate danger to the child's life."

Earlier this month, a kindergarten girl died in an abandoned car.
