Five people were injured in a car accident Monday morning in northern Israel.

The accident took place near the entrance to the Israeli Arab village of Shaab, not far from Karmiel in the central Galilee.

MDA emergency first responders were called to the scene and provided first aid to the victims of the accident.

Authorities say five people were injured in the crash, including two people who suffered serious injuries. One of the seriously injured is a man in his mid-30s, the other a woman in her early-30s who suffered a head injury.

The injured were evacuated by MDA ambulances to the Galilee Medical Center in the coastal town of Nahariya.

Police officers were also dispatched to the scene of the crash and are investigating the causes of the accident.
