MK Nurit Koren (Likud), a member of the Judicial Selection Committee, commented on the participation of Supreme Court Justice Noam Solberg as a private citizen in the state ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of settlement in Judea and Samaria, Jerusalem, the Jordan Valley and Golan Heights..

In an interview with Arutz Sheva, Koren attacked Supreme Court Chief Justice Miriam Naor, who ruled that the court was to boycott the official ceremony.

"So what's Naor's whole tumult about? Why didn't Naor approve him as the Court's representative?" MK Koren wondered. "Instead of remaining neutral, Naor expressed a political position and decided that the ceremony was political.I don't understand Naor's commotion."

According to her, there have been clear rules - for 70 years - that determine how a state ceremony is conducted."There was always a representative from the Supreme Court, and only the government would decide whether it was an official state ceremony or not. After all, the court ruled on performers and ordered them to go to Judea and Samaria.Tomorrow if there were to be a state ceremony in East Jerusalem, will no High Court representative come?"

MK Koren emphasized that "all the decisions of the court regarding settlement were unilateral and against settlement, and I hope that we'll infuse a new spirit now with the new president, Esther Hayut, and the Supreme Court will not make decisions that should not be taken and remains neutral and impeccable."
