MK Yehuda Glick (Likud) responded vehemently to the State's response to the Supreme Court following a petition filed by Glick against the ban on MKs and ministers ascending the Temple Mount.

The State's response indicates that in the future, specific dates will be set in which only Knesset members will be able to ascend the Mount.

"The unending saga of unknown future dates to be set for MKs to ascend the Temple Mount to 'throw a bone' to Knesset members in hopes they will be pacified is a slap in the faces of MKs, their immunity, and their religion.

"It has never been the case that the Temple Mount is open to all except MKs, who are labeled lepers and cannot ascend, even in the case presented by the State as evidence in its response.

"I am saddened that even with the coming holidays we need to plead that I be permitted to perform the mitzvah of pilgrimage to the Temple Mount.I will continue to fight until the restoration of law and justice is in place," said Glick.

Attorney Aviad Visoli, who represents MK Glick in the petition, said that "the State's response is contemptuous of the Court and lacks any legal basis. The laws of the state also apply to the Temple Mount, its sovereignty, and principles of human and civil rights. We'll meet in court.''
