Suspects numbers 5 and 6 in the alleged Jewish plot to carry out a bombing attack against an Arab school were arrested last night: none other than Kach activist Noam Federman and Menashe Levinger of Hevron. Custody of Federman, suspected of being the \"brains and public relations director\" of the outfit, and of Levinger was extended today by eight days.
Atty. Naftali Wurzberger met last night with his two clients in the case, residents of Bat Ayin, for the first time since their arrest 15 days ago. He said he found them \"utterly exhausted, questioned for 60 hours consecutively, and deprived of sleep.\" Wurzberger accused the GSS of \"over-involvement\" in the case, and said that \"whoever thinks that the GSS just happened to find the defendants while on a routine patrol is very naive.\" He did, however, acknowledge that his defendants had some role in planning an attack.
Three of the suspects are from Bat Ayin, in the Gush Etzion block, while the fourth is from the small farm of Maon near Hevron. He is represented by Atty. Ariel Atari, who said that he has still not been permitted to meet his client, and that \"he is being held only in order that he say something to incriminate Federman.\" Noam\'s wife Elisheva Federman said, \"Throughout my 12 years with Noam, the GSS has constantly tried to incriminate him. He was charged 37 times, and acquitted 32 times.\" While her husband denied any wrongdoing other than \"giving legal counsel to the defendants,\" Elisheva also had something to say about the charges of another \"Jewish underground:\" \"I don\'t understand why you [the press] are all up in arms about Jewish terrorism. First of all, it doesn\'t exist... I definitely think that it is inconceivable that you take such a minor story as this one and blow it up out of proportion, while ignoring all the murders of the past 19 months in which we have seen so many Jewish orphans, widows, and widowers...\"
