This morning, IDF troops killed an Arab who opened fire at an army checkpoint between southern Jerusalem and Bethlehem. A soldier manning the checkpoint sustained light to moderate injuries at the hands of the Arab... Also this morning, soldiers killed another Arab who attempted to infiltrate an IDF base in the Jordan Valley near the community of Beka\'ot. An M-16 rifle, cartridges, and a gun were found on his person. Palestinian terrorists shot at citizens manning the Haramiya junction, north of Ramallah; no one was hurt. Arabs shot at an IDF position near the community of Psagot, north of Jerusalem. No injuries were reported. Arabs fired at two IDF outposts in Gaza last night; no one was hurt.

The Palestinian violence comes following a call yesterday by Palestinian Authority Secretary-General Ahmed Abdel Rahman for terrorist organizations to focus their attacks on Jews living in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Only hours later, 43-year-old Nissan Dolinger was murdered by his Arab employee near the Gush Katif community of Rafiach Yam. Security forces said they would look into how the terrorist was able to cross the border with his weapon, a pistol with a silencer. The secretary of Dolinger\'s community of Pe\'at Sadeh, Itzik Elia, spoke with Arutz-7 today. \"Pe\'at Sadeh is the youngest of the Gush Katif communities,\" he said. \"We were established nine years ago, and the Dolingers were the second family to arrive. We now number about 20 families. Officially, we are listed as a secular community, but in reality there are many G-d-fearing and traditional people here, thank G-d, with synagogues and a mikveh [ritual bath]... Nissan was the first one in Pe\'at Sadeh to work in agriculture. His wife is the phone operator at the local regional council, and she was the one to pass on the message to send emergency medical help for a terrorist victim, without realizing that it was for her own husband... She herself often served on the local emergency security team... They left six young children...\"

Elia explained that the murderer was not an employee of Nissan, but rather \"the brother of one of the workers; he came for one day, then asked Nissan for a favor, saying he didn\'t feel well and could he drive him to the checkpoint... and that\'s when he murdered him...\" He said that the problem of Arab labor is a painful one: \"It\'s technically legal to hire Arab workers, and we employ 2,300 of them a day, but there is a major problem here. We have seven agricultural communities, but we have been begging for a year and a half for foreign workers, but as everyone knows, the Minister of Labor refuses to increase the quota... Another option is to stop all agriculture here, but that would mean the end of income to this area... We need Jewish workers, of which there are some, but none who want to come to this area... This is the fourth such murder in the past few months...\"
