An Arab attempted to infiltrate into the community of Ateret, in the Binyamin region, on Friday night.

Arutz Sheva has learned that a ladder had been placed on the fence of the community, and that quick action by the community platoon commander and a patrolman resulted in an Arab fleeing the scene before he was able to infiltrate into the community.

Security camera footage shows the escape route taken by the suspected terrorist, who headed towards the Palestinian Arab town of Rawabi.

Rawabi was built in Area A and is adjacent to Ateret. It is expected to have a population of approximately 25,000 people in approximately 6,000 housing units, with a final population target of 40,000. The defense establishment sees Rawabi as a "city of peace" because it is supposed to provide jobs for Palestinian Arabs as well as parks, entertainment sites, schools and more.

Ateret is only six kilometers from the town of Neve Tzuf (Halamish), where a terrorist recently murdered three Israelis in a stabbing attack during a Friday night Shabbat dinner.

Yossi, Chaya and Elad Salomon were murdered in the attack. Michal, Elad's wife, fled with their five children to the second floor, where they hid from the terrorist. A soldier who lives next door noticed the commotion and acted quickly to neutralize the terrorist.
