Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon will lead a delegation of 70 ambassadors and senior UN staff members on a tour of Israel, in honor of Israel's 70th "birthday."
"We will show our guests our many accomplishments, and Israel's great contribution to the world," Danon said.
As a result, the Queens Museum in New York rescinded its decision to cancel a reenactment of the November 29th vote to found Israel, Israel Hayom reported.
Danon thanked the museum for its decision.
According to Danon, in June senior museum officials told the UN delegation that they expected to host the event "in its natural place." Invitations were sent, but after the event was publicized, senior museum officials expressed concern over comments they received from "Palestinian members of the museum."
"The celebration of the UN resolution, which recognized the right of the Jewish people to its own country, is not a political event," Danon explained on Thursday.
