Israel's Consul General in New York, Dani Dayan, met with the 233 new olim (immigrants) who are flying from JFK Airport to their new homes in Israel.

"I think it's one of the highlights - if not the highlight - of the Israeli Consul's work here in New York," Dayan said of his seeing off the new immigrants, "I had the privilege to do it just a few weeks after I arrived here."

"I am doing it for the second time, and it's as emotional as the first time, because...[while] hasbara is important, politics are important, the most important thing ultimately is aliyah, the ingathering of the exiles. I don't forget that for even one second," Dayan added.

About 70 of the new immigrants will enlist in the IDF soon after landing in Israel.

The landing will be broadcast on Arutz Sheva tomorrow morning.
