This morning IDF troops killed an Arab who opened fire at an army checkpoint between southern Jerusalem and Bethlehem. One solider who was manning the checkpoint sustained light to moderate injuries. Also today, soldiers killed an Arab who attempted to infiltrate an IDF base in the Jordan Valley near the community of Beka’ot. A manhunt is underway for a second suspect in the attack.
In other incidents Arabs targeted an Israeli motorist traveling in the Shomron, north of Ramallah… Arabs shot at an IDF position near the community of Psagot, north of Jerusalem. No injuries were reported in either incident.
The Arab initiated violence comes following comments made yesterday by Palestinian Authority Secretary-General Ahmed Abdel Rahman calling on terrrorist organizations to focus their attacks, on Jews living in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Yesterday, 43-year-old Nissan Dolinger was murdered by an Arab employee, near the Gush Katif community of Rafiach Yam. Soldiers arrested the man as he attempted to flee the scene.
