Shas leader and Interior Minister Aryeh Deri and his wife, Yaffa Deri, will be interrogated by the police Tuesday for the fourth time at the Lahav 443 headquarters in Lod. The two were summoned for further questioning by the police, in which they will be interrogated separately regarding the multiple investigations against them.

"Today is Tuesday, and I am on the way to interrogation, where we will answer all of their questions," Deri tweeted.. The Interior Minister added that he and his wife were optimistic about how the affair would end. "We have no doubt that everything will be good and will end well with God's help."

Deri is under investigation for alleged money laundering, fraud, breach of trust, theft, fraudulent registration, numerous tax offenses, and corruption.

Suspicions were aroused in 2016, after reports surfaced of Deri owning multiple homes, which were left unreported to tax authorities, including a villa in Moshav Safsufa that is allegedly worth millions. In May, police detained 14 people for questioning in connection with the corruption investigation linked to the Deris, including the Director-General of an unnamed government ministry.

Deri, convicted in 1999 of bribery and fraud for crimes committed while serving as Interior Minister more than two decades ago, served 22 months in prison and was released in 2002. He returned to the Knesset in 2013 after the mandatory time had elapsed and led the Shas party in the 2015 elections.
