The military appeals court will hear tomorrow (Tuesday) morning Elor Azariya's request to postpone the beginning of his 18 month prison sentence.

Azariya was convicted of manslaughter for shooting a wounded terrorist following a stabbing attack in Hevron last year. Last month, the appeals court rejected his appeal of the conviction.

Azariya requested that his prison term be delayed in light of his request to IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizonkot for leniency and a reduced sentence.

The request to delay Azariya's prison term cited the statement of the Chief of Staff, according to which “If Azariya should so choose to submit a request for leniency, it will be seriously considered, while taking into account all considerations in the matter, and out of my exclusive obligation to the values of the IDF, its soldiers, and servants.”
