Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit is expected to announce in the coming days that he is accepting the police recommendation to indict Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

According to a report by Channel 2, Sara Netanyahu is suspected of using hundreds of thousands of shekels in public funds to cover her private housekeeping expenses.

The police recommended indicting her several months ago.

Sara Netanyahu was interrogated last week by the Israel Police 443 Anti-Fraud Unit.

The affair, which first broke a month before Sara Netanyahu's husband was re-elected prime minister in 2015, has become known as the "prime minister's residences" scandal.

Michelle Obama spent millions of taxpayer dollars on vacations overseas for herself and those accompanying her without any repercussions. In contrast, the Prime Minister's home was shown on television several years ago to be in dire need of refurbishing.
