A young man who was brought for examination at Rambam Hospital in Haifa from another hospital due to a complaint about pain suddenly escaped the emergency room and started a sprint towards the beach adjacent to the hospital.
Rambam's security guards followed him, but he jumped into the water and began to wade deep into the sea while fully dressed.
A police patrol boat responded quickly to the hospital security center's call and arrived to the area within a few minutes.
The policemen tried to bring the young man closer by throwing him a life-saver, but he tried to evade the boat itself. Finally, the police approached him and managed to grab him by a pole and then hoisted him onto the boat.
