Today, The IDF will begin releasing army reservists called up for emergency duty (Tzav 8) following a government decision to freeze a planned anti-terror operation into Gaza. It was originally announced following last Wednesday’s Security Cabinet meeting that an IDF military operation in Gaza would be carried out in response to the suicide attack in a Rishon Lezion pool hall that claimed the lives of 15 Israelis.

Security forces are reporting that the operation has been postponed because the Gazan Hamas terrorists wanted by Israel have gone into hiding, thereby making the operation more difficult. Officials representing Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer claim that a member of the Security Cabinet leaked information of the offensive causing Hamas to go into hiding.

In response to the reports of a ‘leak’ MK Michael Kleiner (Herut Party) released a statement saying that, \"The leaks are an excuse for the

canceling of the IDF operations in Gaza, the real reason is capitulation to

American pressure.\"
