The parents of soldier Hadar Goldin, whose body is being held by Hamas in Gaza, had harsh criticism for the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and other ministers in the Political-Security Cabinet, as the IDF’s August 2017 draft kicks off today, Sunday.

“Like many parents in Israel, we accompanied our son Hadar to the enlistment office on the day of his enlistment to the Givati Brigade exactly six years ago,” Hadar and Simcha Goldin said. 3 years later, Hadar fought in Rafiah and was kidnapped by Hamas.”

The parents noted, “Anybody coming this morning to the draft offices to volunteer for combat service in the Givati or Golani Brigades, whether it be a young, motivated Israeli or the family members accompanying him, deserves an explanation from the Prime Minister and Defense Minister about why they are not working to return Oron [Shaul] and Hadar from the Shuja'iyya and Rafiah battles.”

“Draftees and their families have a right to know why Netanyahu and Liberman are blatantly violating the unwritten agreement between the Israeli family, which sends its child to mandatory IDF service, and the Government and Cabinet, which send him into battle and are obligated to bring him home.”
