Laurie Cardoza-Moore, president of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations, on Wednesday called on Floridian Christians, Jews and people of conscience to protest Roger Waters' concert at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, which is scheduled for Thursday night.
"Roger Waters is a flagrant anti-Semite. All Christians, Jews and people of conscience should publicly condemn him...Everybody should do what they can to voice their concern that this anti-Semite is spewing his despicable brand of hatred in the Sunshine State,” said Cardoza-Moore in a statement.
She added, "Contact your local lawmakers, picket the concert, speak-out on social media, but whatever you do, do not remain silent."
Waters, the former Pink Floyd musician, is known for his anti-Israel views and for his encouragement of boycotts against Israel.
Waters has in the past compared Israel to Nazi Germany, saying in an interview, “The situation in Israel/Palestine, with the occupation, the ethnic cleansing and the systematic racist apartheid Israeli regime is unacceptable.”
He previously released a giant balloon pig bearing the Star of David during a concert in Belgium. Concert-goers said the Jewish star was among several symbols representing various corporations and fascist movements.
If that is not enough, Waters has frequently blasted other musicians for choosing to perform in Israel and has pressured them to cancel their performances.
Artists he has attacked include Jon Bon Jovi, Alan Parsons, the Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Radiohead and actress Scarlett Johansson.
Cardoza-Moore, who grew up in south Florida, said in a statement on Wednesday she is insulted that Waters should be financially benefiting from a region that not only boasts a large Jewish population but is also home to a major Christian pro-Israel support base.
Last month, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) criticized performance arenas and concert facilities throughout North America for giving Waters a platform.
The ZOA also criticized radio stations across the nation that are promoting Waters’ concerts and giving away tickets to them, thereby encouraging more people to be exposed to his lie-filled, hateful anti-Israel rants.
