Yesterday, IDF forces operating in PLO-controlled Tul Karem apprehended 12 terrorists, including the local Hamas leader, Abbas Mahmoud Mustafa el-Siyad. El-Siyad was sought out when the intelligence community learned he was planning a suicide attack for the near future. Also apprehended in the operation was Mansour Sharm, involved in numerous fatal attacks against Israelis. He was the man responsible for providing one of the explosive belts used in the Netanya hotel massacre that claimed the lives of 29 Israelis during a Passover Seder. Sharm was in possession of an explosive belt when he was arrested.
