Yesterday, IDF forces operating in PLO-controlled Tul Karem apprehended the local Hamas leader, Abbas Mahmoud Mustafa el-Siyad. El-Siyad was sought out after the intelligence community learned he was planning a suicide attack in the near future.



Also apprehended was Mohand Mansour Sharm. Sharm was involved in carrying out numerous fatal attacks against Israelis. He was the man responsible for providing one of the explosive belts used in the Passover massacre that claimed the lives of 29 Israelis during a Passover Seder, in Netanya\'s Park Hotel. Sharm was in possession of an explosive belt when he was arrested. Ten other Palestinians were involved in the Tul Karem Operation.



In other war news nine Palestinian residents of the village of Ouja near Jerico were taken into custody. They are suspected of taking part in terrorist activity… IDF troops discovered two bombs north of Hevron at the village of Bet Kahill. The explosive devices were detonated in a controlled blast without incident.
