A 13-year-old boy was critically injured on Thursday evening and another man was seriously injured in a car accident near the Arazim Tunnel in northern Jerusalem.

A 70-year-old man and woman were moderately injured.

Teams of Magen David Adom United Hatzalah paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident, providing medical treatment to the victims and evacuating them to the hospital.

Large teams of MDA and the Rescue Union arrived at the scene of the accident and determined the death of the boy after resuscitation attempts failed.

MDA Paramedic Avi Shiff said: "When I arrived at the scene the sight was hard to bear. I saw a crushed vehicle that had crashed into the railing whose iron paling passed through it. Outside the car, a boy of about 15 lay there. [He was] not breathing and had no pulse. The driver and passenger sitting next to him were trapped in the vehicle. Another passenger was sitting in the back of the car."

"We rescued the 70-year-old man and woman, who were fully conscious, with bruises on their bodies. After initial medical treatment by the large teams we had on the scene, we evacuated them to the hospital in moderate and stable condition. We attempted to provide treatment to the boy, but were forced to declare him dead at the scene.

"The driver of the vehicle is about 40 years old. He was rescued by the firefighters in a complex and prolonged rescue operation, during which he was conscious and suffering from a systemic injury. We treated him during the rescue and evacuated him to the hospital in serious but stable condition."
