Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman today (Monday) toured the Israeli-Syrian border on the Golan Heights and then discussed tensions in the north during a Knesset meeting of the Yisrael Beyteinu party.

"Fighting and events in the new Quneitra area do not concern us, we are not looking for excuses, [we do not want] to take part in the civil war nor to take sides, not to harm the forces of the regime and not those of Jebhat al-Nusra. None of these are our friends. On the contrary," Liberman declared.

Liberman expounded on the ideology with which he plans to face the Islamic armies, saying, "What is certain is that we will not tolerate any harm to Israeli sovereignty, we very much enjoy peace, security, growth, and prosperity, and we will be very mad if we are disturbed concerning this quiet and security. If someone intends to violate our sovereignty, it's really not worth it; we will be very upset and I recommend not testing us."

Liberman spoke of his tour and said, "I was happy to see the tourists coming to visit the Golan Heights, and most importantly, I was happy to see the residents of the Golan Heights and Katzrin continue to live in peace and tranquility," Liberman told Ynet. "I call on all the people of Israel to travel there and enjoy the scenery, fruits, and wine."

He also referred to the situation in the Gaza Strip and clarified, "I think we acted correctly when we said, 'If you pay, you will get it, if you do not pay, you will not get it.' In the face of all sorts of advice to go in and at our expense transfer them electricity - we insisted. In the end, diesel fuel reached the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing from Egypt. Hamas may have paid NIS 8 million out of its pocket, and the rest is apparently from the provinces, and there is now an internal Palestinian dispute, an internal Arab Arab dispute, and we do not have to go into it.

"As someone who follows what happens in the Gaza Strip, not only on the political level, but also on the social networks - even the residents of Gaza know that Israel has no hand, no involvement in this crisis ... It is a crisis first between Fatah and Hamas, between Abu Mazen and Yahya Sinwar, therefore we intend to continue with the same line," the Defense Minister concluded.
