Shortly after the news of the slaughter became known, the UN General Council condemned Israel regarding the Jenin battles. The vote was 74-4. Israel, the U.S., the Marshall Islands, and Micronesia voted against the condemnation. All the European Union countries were among the 51 nations that abstained.
