Northern district police arrested a 29-year old man after he allegedly physically assaulted his disabled elderly neighbor in a dispute over a parking ticket the suspect received.

The suspect, a resident of the northern town of Migdal Haemek, was brought before a judge in Nazareth, who extended his arrest by one day.

According to police, on Monday, the suspect parked in a parking space designated for the disabled and used by the suspect’s 65-year old disabled neighbor. After police were notified of the parking offense, a ticket was placed on the suspect’s car.

Later, when the suspect returned to his car and found the ticket, he proceeded to a local police station, where he was informed of the nature of the offense for which he had been fined.

When the suspect returned home Monday evening he confronted his handicapped neighbor and physically assaulted him.

Police say the suspect also damaged the neighbor’s car.

After the neighbor filed a complaint with local police, officers took the suspect into custody.
