In the past two days, the IDF Northern Command has held a surprise exercise accompanied by the IDF controller, along with 70 additional supervisors.

"The exercise was planned in advance, with the scenario of an event exploding from normal routine to emergency," said a senior officer.

The scenario was a complete surprise for all forces, including the Air Force, and the initial task was to send the most available regular forces that included thousands of soldiers, helicopter gunships, air transport vehicles with troop gathering capabilities, as well as the General Staff, two divisions, special forces, and commandos, with all forces transferred to the area of operation within a few hours.

The senior officer said that all forces reached their targets within 4 to 6 hours, and that the IDF successfully completed the exercise: "This is a long-term readiness plan for any threat that may be," he said.

The military official also revealed that following the weapons theft last week, the army decided to allocate NIS 15 million to defense systems in all military armories in order to prevent such incidents.
