Israeli-Georgian billionaire and philanthropist Mikhael Mirilashvili and his son Yitzhak, the owners of Israel's Channel 20, were interrogated Monday in connection with the investigation of Interior Minister Aryeh Deri.
According to the allegations, the two have maintained an association with Deri for a number of years, during which they transferred large sums of money to the Shas party and to two associations managed by Deri's wife Yaffa. Deri is suspected of moneylaundering offences, as well as breach of trust, theft, fraudulent registration and tax offences.
On Monday the names of two other people interrogated on the matter were released: Jerusalem City Councilman Moshe Lion and the director of the ministry for development of the Negev and the Galil, Ariel Mashal.
Deri and his wife were interrogated for 11 hours Monday in connection with the investigation.
