The David Citadel Museum in the Old City of Jerusalem removed on Tuesday the name of convicted terrorist Ali Jaada from its list of “50 faces” project, which seeks to present representative profiles of the people of Jerusalem in honor of the 50th anniversary since Jerusalem’s liberation.

Jaada was one of the perpetrators of the "night of grenades" in 1968 and he and his friends threw grenades at innocent passersby on Strauss street in Jerusalem.

He was caught and sentenced to 20 years in jail of which he served 17 before he was released in the 1985 deal freeing terrorists in return for Israeli captives, known as the "Jibril Deal."

The city of Jerusalem said that, following publication of the story, it had instructed the museum to remove the profile of Jaada from the project immediately. Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said that “Jerusalem will not give a platform to terrorists.”

The events transpired as a result of anArutz Sheva expose which revealed that Jaada had been accorded honor on the museum’s website as part of the project - despite being a member of the PFLP terror organization and a convicted terrorist.
